  • Prior to 2009, Regina Public Library proceeded to investigate the possibility of developing a plan to renovate or build a new Central Library in downtown Regina.
  • December 2008 – RPL Project Management Proposal from Fraser Strategy
  • February 7, 2009 – Expression of Interest invitation published and distributed
  • April 29, 2009 – Media release sent by RPL stating that Steering Committee Chair, Dr. Roberta McKay, will meet with P3A and Harvard Developments to discuss future development of Central Library
  • May 12, 2009 – Meeting to discuss potential Steering Committee members and stakeholders
  • May 27 2009 – RPL Internal Planning Group First Meeting (staff)
  • June 17, 2009 – First Visioning Meeting for stakeholders
  • June 23, 2009 – Development Agreement with Harvard Developments signed
  • July 8, 2009 – Working agreement with P3A signed
  • July 15-31, 2009 – RPL encourages opinion through an on-line survey
  • August 11, 2009 – City Council Meeting to provide update and seek direction on Central Library Development
  • August 19, 2009 – Design Open House at Central Library and review of massing diagrams
  • September 29, 2009 – Drawings from P3A/Harvard Developments: Option G
  • November 16, 2009 – Central Library Development Plan (functional program) draft completed
  • December 1, 2009 – Drawings from, P3A/Harvard Developments: Design Drivers
  • January 19, 2009 – Central Library Development Plan Final Draft revised
  • January 8, 2010 – Central Library Development Plan Final Document issued
  • January 14, 2010 – Drawing from P3A/Harvard Developments: Site Concept
  • May 2011 – Meetings with Glen Davies, City of Regina, and the Globe Theatre to discuss next steps of project
  • June 8, 2011 – Presentation to City Council
  • June 11, 2011 – Open Q@A session with City Council during their regular meeting
  • June 15, 2011 – RPL applies for P3 Canada funding for the project
  • June, 2012 – RPL withdraws from the P3 Canada funding process
  • July/August, 2011 - P3A refines concept design drawings 
  • May 2012 – Mason’s turn down RPL offer to purchase the building and land adjacent to Central Library
  • August 2012 – Library Board meets to discuss next steps and future options for Central Library Development
